Norman Education

Your home for learning in the Early Years

Norman Education

It all started with a desire to create a business that our child will be proud of - and that desire partnered with our passion for Early Years Education led to what you see here.

Norman Inc. was created by Connor, and it includes his business Norman Entertainment (see Muddleville tab) and Norman Education, run by Chloe. We are a husband and wife team, who both work and are qualified in Early Childhood.

Norman Education is an online store, but also a parent hub with a regular blog (coming soon) and an email address where we can discuss any parenting questions.

The store includes a range of digital or physical products, both for the children (activity packs, workbooks, etc) and parents (info sheets, handy organisers etc).

Who am I? And how am I qualified to sell educational resources?

I am Chloe, a new mum and long-time Early Years worker. I have worked with children under 5 years of age since 2014, and older children up to 18 years with and without Special Educational Needs alongside this as well.

I hold a Level 2 in Childcare, and am studying my Level 5 Early Years leadership qualification. I also hold a Psychology degree, which covered in depth brain and child development.

These on-paper qualifications alongside my 12 years on the job have provided me with a well-rounded knowledge of child development, behaviour management, the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, and the needs of modern children and parents.

So what is the EYFS?

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a mandatory statutory framework in England setting standards for the learning, development, and care of children from birth to age five. It ensures high-quality education, safety, and welfare in Ofsted-registered settings, including nurseries, childminders, and school reception classes.

In other words, this is the 'curriculum' that your child will be learning if you put them in to education in England prior to the age of five (including nursery, preschool and the first year of primary school). Each of these settings has to document how they are teaching the framework to children through observations and regular assessments - which are shown to parents and OFSTED if requested.

If you have any question about the EYFS, I am happy to have a chat or send over some documents for your viewing. Contact normanearlyyears@gmail.com.
